So many gimmicks out there. The one I have been asked about a couple times lately is thinning hair. Let's talk about that.
So many commercials promising things that just aren't going to happen...or happen how you think.
Those commercials for thickening or adding volume to the hair. Just say NO!
What it is doing is coating your hair with thick junk to make your hair feel thicker, It's not actually making your hair shaft thicker.
Hair loss or thin hair is either hereditary, or a sign of hormones being off balance. I can always tell when my thyroid is off when my hair starts falling out in clumps. Pregnancy, puberty, menopause and so much more.
If you are losing tons of hair, see a doctor!
In the mean time, keep your hair follicle clear. My favorite is Nioxin shampoo. It keeps the scalp, clear and stimulated.
I also use on my teens who have a lot of build up and even on my little ones that still have cradle cap build up. I use it on myself once a week as well!
Keeping up with the trends...as REAL women!

" IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME"
in my best Tina voice...
2 things....Rodan + Fields is rocking my world...ok, my skin.
Want to see what's regimen is right for you? Message me on FACEBOOK
and please don't use cotton balls or TP for things like toner. Your TP and cotton ball don't need a good tone, your face does. And when you use those products...they suck it all up. Not to mention they leave fibers all over your face! These are the best!!!

Let's talk skin care!!!
So much to chose from and it is so confusing!!! people are always asking me what product line I use. Honestly, a ton. I pick and chose which ones are the best for my clients. But I tend to use the most from a line called bioelements. I love their clean results. My favorite product is their professional product called measured micrograins. It's microderm in a jar. NO JOKE! I use it on my manual micro facials. As far as home care. It was always hard to get people to use the right stuff on a daily basis at home as well as me coming in to to a facial weekly, monthly...whenever!
Until I discovered Rodan + Fields. Yes, if you tried to convince me for years it was amazing and I mocked you, I am SORRY! I am eating my words now, I was wrong!!!
Hands down the best home care line I have tried. What I love about it?
They've got you covered from start to finish. Wash, tone, serum, moisturizer....
You can start with one regimen, say unblemish if you have acne, and then move on to another to correct the next thing.
IT WORKS!!!
It does not kill your skin.
Its professional grade so a little goes a long way. A regimen should last you around 3 months. So if you break it down, it's really not that expensive. $150 for 3 months. $50 a month for 5 products? $10 product. I bet you are spending that at the drugstore for junk!!
They have a money back guarantee.
They have done all the work for you. You just take a quiz and learn what is best for you!
Skin Quiz
I've been doing fun giveaways to celebrate the start of the Facebook Hair and Skin by Allison and Instagram Hair and Skin by Allison page. But now I am celebrating the blog taking off.
You have a chance to win my most favorite professional product for you to enjoy in your own home.
I use this with a clarisonic to create the perfect home microdermabrassion.
Remember only to buy beauty products sold by amazon and not a 3rd party!
What is it?
A gentle buffing facial scrub that improves texture with microgranules.
Extremely-fine microgranules gently buff away dulling surface flakes and smooth out the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Pores are refined. Skin is comforted. Texture is improved.
To use as a scrub: Apply to moist skin and gently massage. Rinse off with water. Avoid getting into eyes.
To use as a mask and scrub: Apply to clean skin and let dry. Wet fingertips and massage gently to soften mask and exfoliate skin. Rinse off with water avoiding eyes. Use up to 3 times a week.
I am always here to help, so message me on Facebook for any needs!
Have a BEAUTIFUL day!

Hello!! My name is Allison. I am a wife and mother to 3 kids who keep me on my toes. I went to school for hair and skin LATER in life. Yes, I finished when I was 36. But I wasn't the oldest. :) I love keeping up with the latest trends...for REAL women. I am a firm believer in finding what works for YOU! I try anything I can get my hands on. I use a variety of product lines in both hair and skin. I have yet to find ONE brand that has everything I need. I love to pass on what I am loving. This is the best way I can think to get the info out in there in 1 message. I love questions! Have a beautiful day!
Let's talk BABY LIGHTS!!!
So I read an article on Facebook the other day. They said the new trend for 2015 was some french word. So here's the deal folks. I've been doing these for months and here I call them baby lights.
WHAT IS IT?
Its a technique for blending old balayage or ombre. So many of us have the old ombre or balayage and wonder what we can do to blend it if we just aren't into the balayage or ombre anymore.
HOW? you use very fine highlights randomly place(same technique as balayage) in the crown of the head.
It is a great way to blend and give that natural sun kissed look.
Don't have an old ombre or balayage? It still looks amazing!!
